March 26th - Palestrina's Benedictus for Holy Week



A most wonderful composition perfectly capturing the mood of Tenebrae. His Miserere for Tenebrae is quite stunning too (see below), perhaps a shade or two less wonderful than the setting of the Benedictus but nevertheless a suitable piece to listen to and reflect on in the darkness at the end of the service.

Within the Octave of the Nativity



Rubricarius' Christmas Tree set up and dressed on the Tridentine Vigil of the Nativity 2009 (6th January 2010 in the modern style).



The video below from 'The Crazy Cello' on YouTube is quite Rubricarius' favourite setting of Nahum Tate's famous 'While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night', sung to the melody known as 'Old Foster' after its composer John Foster. Wonderful!
